Pemba Sherpa delivering food supplies

One of the Sherpas who was with us at Timbu Basecamp returned to Kathmandu to the news that his village of Khari Khola in the Solu Khumbu had been destroyed by the second large earthquake on 13th May.  We helped Chongba Pemba Sherpa to deliver much needed food and other aid supplies to his village.

Chongba Pemba was also able deliver 24 bundles of corrugated iron to his village.  These will be carried for 2 days by teams of porters to reach Khari Khola.

UPDATE
Pemba has been working almost ceaslessly over the past few months – when he is not out trekking or climbing he comes to us with small projects complete with materials needed, transport plans and costs.
